Book Review - Steering Through Chaos - Scott Wilson

I would highly recommend this book for anyone that is tired of playing church and has the courage to step forward to advance the Kingdom in a mighty way.
Once you read this book you feel like you know Scott or that you want to know him, his contagious personality jumps off the pages and I found myself cheering for him. For a man that has accomplished so much to be so transparent and humble is refreshing.
The book is not something that you can breeze through; it has many moments where the conviction of the Holy Spirit stopped me dead in my tracks. It is obvious that there was quite a bit of prayer but into this book. Scott is not telling his story to lift his name but presents these principles in a way to help you through the pitfalls and trials that are inevitable.
This book is not written from the high horse, a know-it-all, or even with a sense of self-pride, it is written with the confidence that “He who began a good work, will be faithful to complete it.”
God has a purpose and a plan for each one of us. This book challenges the reader to discover the plans that God has for us individually and then apply these principles and strategies to bring out the best in you, your staff, and your congregation.
There are millions of people living within a block of a church, and it is our commission to go and reach the lost and unchurched for Jesus. Jesus wasn’t about numbers for pride's sake, He was about people. Jesus was in the people business and we, as Christians, should be too. It is not about how big our facility is but about what we are doing with it and are we pursuing the voice of God for direction, vision, and insight. One day we will all stand before the throne and answer for what we did with all that God has given us.
This book is a must read, but when you do, mark the date in the front because you will need to remember the date for when your ministry changed forever.
